Wonderland painting + old character redesigns (blogmas day 18 and 19)

Hail and well met nerds, geeks, and dorks! August here. I hope you all are doing well.

So, I lied. I didn’t get a piece out yesterday because of family stuff and car nonsense. But I’ve got two art pieces today!

The first is an acrylic painting I did based on the story of Alice in Wonderland.

And the other is some redesigns I did of some old ocs from a crossover fanfiction that will never see the light of day! But I will reuse the characters in my book now.

I hope you guys enjoy. Leave a comment below, is love to talk to you! Remember, you’re going to be amazing. Look to the stars. Aim. Ignite!

Nature poem (Blogmas day 11)

Hail and well met nerds, geeks, and dorks. August here. I hope you all are doing ok.

i had to write a poem about nature for a school project a little bit ago. It is about fall, despite it being the middle of winter.

The leaves surround me

Falling with no aim

The trees are beside me

Foliage all gone

Every color I see

From reds to oranges

Spread around the tree

I sit against, alone

Sipping warm tea

And reading my book

Pausing to look at the things around me

They’re starting the bonfire

As the sun falls behind my tree

The kids find their pumpkins

And others watch from by me

My favorite time of year

Is autumn by far

Autumn, by A. M. Smith

I hope you guys enjoy. Leave a comment below, I’d love to talk to you! Remember, you’re going to be amazing. Look to the stars. Aim. Ignite!

The Small Joys tag

Hail and well met nerds, geeks, and dorks. August here. Today I’m doing the Small Joys tag. I was tagged by my friend, B. @I blog a little bit of everything.

The Rules

  1. Thank the blogger who tagged you
  2. List 15 of your small joys (they can be as weird, random and silly as you want to make them)
  3. Tag 5 blogger friends who bring you joy (and feel free to say why they bring you joy!) Have fun with it!

My Small Joys

1. Musicals

What can I say? I love it when people burst into song. Most of my main fandoms have a musical element to them at some point and it always makes me super happy listening to the songs.

2. Disney

This is definitely my largest joy overall, but I can’t talk about things that make me happy without mentioning Disney. Almost all of my favorite movies are Disney and a lot of my favorite shows are Disney.

3. The Two Princes podcast

I started listening to this a while ago and I am obsessed. The new season just came out yesterday and it’s so good!

4. High School Musical

If you’ve been reading my posts for a while, you’ll know that I love this entire franchise. I love drawing the characters and listening to the songs. It’s seriously one of my biggest fandoms.

5. Art

I love art. Painting, drawing, and writing are some of my favorite things to do.

6. Winnie the Pooh

Pooh Bear has been one of my favorite Disney characters for my whole life. He has brought so much joy to me that I had to mention him.

7. Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts

I started this show one night because I was bored and was instantly blown away by the story, worldbuilding, and animation. I could rant about this show for an entire post and probably will eventually.

8. Fantasy

I love fantasy books, movies, and basically any media with epic creatures, magic, and crazy worlds. from the modern fantasy world of Onward to the beast filled world of my family’s DND game.

9. Percy Jackson

These books sparked my love of writing, myths, and sarcastic main characters. The books are a huge thing in my family and I love the musical. I am super excited to see the show when it comes out.

10. Julie and the Phantoms

This was another series that I started when I was bored and ended up loving. The music is amazing and the characters are all well developed and unique. Again, I could rant about this and I will.

11. Flowers

I love flowers. From the huge gardens my neighbors have to the bright colored wildflowers in my backyard. They are one of my favorite things to photograph and draw.

12. The Adventure Zone

This podcast is super close to my heart. The characters helped me figure out my sexuality and they are so freaking talented.

13. Halloween

Halloween is by far my favorite holiday. I love the pumpkins, The decorations, and the music.

14. Dressing up

I felt like this deserves its own point. While Halloween is famous for costumes, there are so many other times for dressing up. I love cosplaying as my favorite characters and finding or making all of the parts.

15. My stories

It may sound weird, but my stories bring me so much joy. Creating characters, a world, and so much more is one of my favorite things to do. I love using my writing to bring joy to others.

So that was the tag! I’m supposed to tag five other bloggers, but I’m going to do this instead:

I tag any of my followers for this! You guys bring me more joy than most things on this list. I love reading your posts and your comments. You’re awesome.

I hope you guys enjoy. Leave a comment below, I’d love to talk to you! Remember, you’re going to be amazing. Look to the stars. Aim. Ignite!

Book Cover Reveal!

Hail and well met nerds, geeks, and dorks. I guess this isn’t just a book announcement, because I figured out that I’m going to be going by August on here now.

Now that the name announcement is over with, it’s time to actually reveal my book! The first draft is almost done, so I’m going to be editing it pretty soon. I’m very excited to share the cover and synopsis of Tales of the Old City!

So here’s the front cover! I don’t really have much to say on it, so we’re just going to jump into the synopsis.

The Old City is full of lore and legends, someone needs to share them with the outside world. A collection of stories centered around the royalty, rebels, and commoners of the Old City. Join the residents on quests for glory and to save their loved ones.

The Old City

Some of you might recognize some of the characters in this book from my comic, The Elements. I said that I was going to just write a book with some illustrations, and this is what I got! The Elements character designs are below.

I hope you guys enjoy! Leave a comment below, I’d love to talk to you! Remember, you’re going to be amazing. Look to the stars. Aim. Ignite!

Lilah’s School of Supernatural Creatures: part two

Hail and well met nerds, geeks, and dorks. Elle here. Today I’m back with part two of my original story.

I showed up at the school before anyone else. There were so many trees all over the grounds. I could hear them, whispering about past students, how they left, or, in some cases, died. They didn’t notice that I could hear them until I spoke to them. ”Where is everyone?” I leaned against the nearest tree.

”They are all on their way.” the tree I was leaning on answered in a raspy, deep voice that came from the roots of the tree.

I nodded as I asked another question. ”Do the students here die often?”

”More then you’d think.” a different tree answered this time. Their voice more willowy and light.

As the second tree stopped talking, chaos began to close in around me as more and more students arrive.

”You’d better get over there.” the first tree whispered, their branches nudging me towards the crowd of Supernatural Creatures.

Announcement + old speedpaint

Hail and well met nerds, geeks, and dorks. Elle here. Today I have a slightly sad announcement. The Elements is not going to be a comic anymore. Because I’m going into high school and have multiple other projects, I will be writing this just as a book. I still plan to illustrate some pages in the book, but it will not be a full comic.

Sadly I don’t have any new content for you guys, so I have the speedpaint from my HSMTMTS dnd art thingy with the shading.

I hope you guys enjoy. Leave a comment below, I’d love to talk to you! Remember, you’re going to be amazing. Look to the stars. Aim. Ignite!

First draft book tag!

Hello nerds, geeks, and dorks. Elle here. Yes, I’m doing another tag. But, this time, I was actually tagged by MADELINE! She’s awesome. This is actually one of her original tags!

RULES:

  • Credit the creator of the tag (The Bookish Mutant)
  • You can use her graphics (which I’m doing)
  • Answer the questions to the best of your ability
  • Tag as many people as you want
  • Have fun, and keep on reading and writing! The world needs your creativity!

I always thought the concept of Rick Riordan’s books were super fun. I love the modern characters mixed with the ancient gods/esses and myths.

Anything nonfiction always takes me forever to read. Historical fiction is fun, though.

(Hahahaha, not me)

Any books with plot twists, that actually surprise me, seems really well thought out, in my opinion.

(there I am!)

I’m just going to say, Magnus Chase. In the first, like, five or six chapters, he died.

Um, I have no clue.

Nate Expectations by Tim Federle! (highly suggest)

I tag…
